Nimbus Discovery and Proteros enter into multi-target X-ray protein crystallography collaboration
Proteros Biostructures GmbH announced that it has entered into a strategic collaboration with Nimbus Discovery, LLC to deliver X-ray protein crystal structures for multiple targets.
Under the agreement, Proteros will provide structures from its Gallery Structure list, an ever growing catalogue of ready-to-use proteins (currently over one hundred) for rapid X-ray structure analysis of protein-ligand complexes in addition to providing gene-to-structure projects for novel biological targets. Proteros will deploy its high throughput crystallography platform and proprietary technologies to provide Nimbus with rapid turnaround in support of their discovery projects. Proteros will also generate customized structures for Nimbus’ proprietary programs and clinical candidates.
Proteros has no internal drug discovery programs and continues to focus and invest in developing its service business which consists of X-ray protein crystallography, kinetic and thermodynamic compound profiling and integrated lead discovery based on a fragment library of over 30,000 novel target directed molecules.
Cony D’Cruz, CBO and President of Proteros (US) Inc. said: “We are delighted to be working with an innovative company such as Nimbus. We look forward to using our proven expertise in crystallography to assist with Nimbus’ exciting discovery goals.”
”Our collaboration with Proteros Biostructures generates real-time structural data to accelerate our programs against fundamental disease targets”, added Jonathan Montagu, Vice President, Business Operations at Nimbus. ”Proteros is a key component of our virtually integrated, globally distributed R&D model”
