Warnex Inc. announced it has
finalized an agreement with Don Whitley Scientific Limited (DW Scientific) to
distribute and market the Genevision(TM) Rapid
pathogen detection System. As
part of the three-year agreement, DW Scientific has ordered a Genevision
system to start the promotion of the technology throughout its UK customer
network.
"This agreement with DW Scientific strengthens our presence in Europe and
provides critical access to some of the largest
food diagnostic laboratories
and food producers in the UK," said Mark Busgang, President and CEO of Warnex.
"In addition to our agreements now in place in
Italy and the UK, we are
expecting to conclude an agreement with a European company that will
distribute Genevision throughout the rest of the E.U. We are also aggressively
pursuing the Asian and South American markets and hope to have distributors in
place before the end of 2004."
DW Scientific, based in Shipley, West Yorkshire, UK, is a leader in the
development, production and distribution of instrumentation and associated
products for microbiological applications. The company currently sells a range
of
microbiology products to customers in more than 35 countries.
"The Genevision system is an excellent addition to our pathogen detection
portfolio, providing our clients in the agri-food industry with a user
friendly, leading edge alternative for testing their products," said Paul
Walton, Managing Director, DW Scientific. "With the increasing awareness of
food safety issues, we are convinced that the Genevision system's benefits -
principally faster time to results - will be of significant interest to our
diverse customer base."
Warnex also announced it has joined the Campden & Chorleywood Food
Research Association (CCFRA), based in Glousestershire, UK. The CCFRA is the
UK's largest independent organization carrying out research and development
for the agri-food industry worldwide. While providing access to the expertise
of world-class food scientists, Warnex can also benefit from this organization
by gaining insight on marketing and commercialization strategies for
Genevision in Europe, as well as on product development and obtaining European
validations. For more information on the CCFRA, you can visit their web site
