Multi‑Angle Light Scattering redefined – precision results, effortlessly delivered

The new generation of the LenS3 MALS detector has been specifically developed for demanding and variable applications. It enables the determination of an exceptionally wide range of molecular weights and molecular sizes (radius of gyration), from small molecules or low concentrations to very large macromolecules. The LenS3 combines high sensitivity with practical, straightforward operation and is suitable for both routine analysis and complex analytical questions.

A central performance feature of the LenS3 is its significantly increased signal intensity. A green laser with adjustable output enhances scattering efficiency, particularly for weakly scattering samples. In combination with the patented optical design and ring‑shaped detection, the scattered light is collected with high efficiency, allowing even low‑intensity scattering signals to be detected reliably.

At the same time, the LenS3 sets new benchmarks in noise reduction. The use of black PEEK minimizes stray light and reflections, significantly improving the signal‑to‑noise ratio. This also enables a detection geometry that includes extreme measurement angles at 10 and 170 degrees as well as 90 degrees.

The result of this technological combination is very high sensitivity alongside a broad measurement range. Weakly scattering samples, small molecules, and low concentrations can be analyzed just as reliably as very large molecules or high concentrations. Molecular weight determination can be performed directly, without extrapolation or model assumptions.

In daily use, the LenS3 also convinces with its simplicity. The SECview 3.0 software provides a modular, guided workflow that leads to results in just a few steps. The detector can be coupled to nearly any LC system and is suitable for both aqueous and organic separations.

The LenS3 MALS detector thus offers a powerful yet easy‑to‑use solution for direct molecular weight determination across a wide application spectrum. With its high sensitivity and large measurement range, it is particularly well suited for demanding applications such as bio‑based polymers, proteins, therapeutic vectors, or complex formulations. This makes the LenS3 a reliable tool for analyses in both research and applied development.
