Agilent Technologies receives Frost & Sullivan Customer Service Leadership Award for used test and measurement equipment

04-Mar-2005

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced it has received the Frost & Sullivan Customer Service Leadership Award for used test and measurement equipment. The award recognizes Agilent's continued commitment to innovation with their CertiPrime, Agilent Advantage Assurance, and Trade-up, Trade-in and Sell-off programs. CertiPrime represents a new category of used equipment where units are fully remanufactured rather than simply reconditioned. The Agilent Advantage Assurance program guarantees the performance and quality of Agilent equipment sold by other companies. Both buyer protection programs, launched in 2004, were implemented to inspire customer confidence and reduce the risk associated with purchasing used test equipment.

"By creating multiple innovative and successful programs, Agilent has redefined the used test equipment market," said Muthu Kumar, Frost & Sullivan research analyst. "Agilent has shown tremendous responsiveness to customer needs and demonstrated their flexibility in tailoring their product offerings to suit customer needs."

Agilent CertiPrime offers customers who buy used Agilent equipment directly from Agilent the same guarantee as buying new equipment. Agilent CertiPrime products, typically priced 20 to 50 percent less than new equipment, are fully remanufactured by Agilent and have the same production-quality calibration as new units. In addition, customers of Agilent CertiPrime products receive a same-as-new warranty, support and return policy, and the latest compatible software and firmware updates.

The Agilent Advantage Assurance program helps customers buy Agilent-brand used instruments from any Agilent authorized reseller. Agilent is the only original equipment manufacturer that assures the performance and quality of Agilent equipment sold by others. These instruments are inspected and calibrated by Agilent and come with a one- or two-year repair agreement, depending on where the equipment is purchased.

To choose the recipient of this award, Frost & Sullivan tracked all industry participants and monitored their customer service methods on an ongoing basis. The award recipient is selected based on extensive research collected from key market participants, secondary and technology sources and customer interviews.
