Gene Logic to Establish UK-Based Subsidiary - Gene Logic Ltd

Continues Expansion of Global Pharmacogenomics Services with EU Staff

Gene Logic Inc. announced that it has established Gene Logic Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary based in the United Kingdom, that will facilitate sales, marketing and customer support in Europe for the Company's full range of genomic-based services beginning in March 2004. The move will enable Gene Logic to work more closely with its current customers and more readily access prospective customers to expand its customer base in this market. Gene Logic has been managing the European market for the past four years from its headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

"Europe is a key part of our international strategy, evidenced by the group of European pharmaceutical companies who are current customers, including AstraZeneca, Aventis, Boehringer Ingelheim, GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis," said Mark D. Gessler, Chairman and CEO of Gene Logic. "This new Gene Logic initiative enables us to forge a closer working relationship with this portion of our international customer base. In getting closer to our existing customers we will be able to learn more about their needs and apply our expanded services as solutions to their ongoing research and development needs."

The new Gene Logic European operation will begin with local dedicated sales and marketing personnel. Neil Hocking has been hired as Gene Logic's Executive Director for Business Development in Europe and comes to the Company with nineteen years experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life sciences industries at various companies, including SANYO, MDL and Celera Genomics.
