The Litesizer™ 500 is a high-performance light-scattering instrument with highly sensitive measurement optics, mounted in a tightly encased optical bench. This enables the accurate detection of even low-intensity signals. The robust casing ensures especially stable results by reducing the effects of dust, vibrations and temperature fluctuations.
Four Modes for Your Application
The Litesizer 500 determines particle size, zeta potential, and molecular mass by measuring dynamic light scattering (DLS), electrophoretic light scattering (ELS), and static light scattering (SLS) and transmittance continuously.
The newly patented cmPALS technology for zeta potential measurements from Anton Paar overcomes the limitation of existing PALS technology (short measuring intervals). cmPALS provides greater sensitivity and stability of the laser-Doppler electrophoresis measurements. In this way, meaningful results can be obtained in shorter times and with lower applied electric fields.
In the DLS mode (particle size measurements) several different particle sizes in a single suspension can be precisely resolved, thanks to highly developed algorithms in the firmware.
Continuous transmittance measurements provide insights into your sample’s suitability for particle characterization. In addition, the Litesizer 500 uses the transmittance to select the best parameters for your analysis (attenuation, focus position, measurement angle and duration).
Intuitive Software with One-Page Workflow
All input parameters, measurements and analyses appear on a single page, so all important information is at hand. Measurement series, customizable reports, audit trails and traceability are all at your fingertips. With this intuitive software, you are free to concentrate on what your particles are doing instead of trying to figure out how to use the instrument.
Zeta potential measurements provide information about the homogeneity and stability of dispersions and emulsions such as coatings, rinses, infusions or milk. In combination with particle size measurements they enable conclusions on the products reactivity.
