Mediascout MiniColumns bring convenience and speed to bioprocess development The new 96 well format system for resin screening and parallel chromatography applications
The Atoll MediaScout® MiniColumn high throughput screening tool is an array of individual small columns installed on a base plate, conforming to the standard 96 array microplate format. Columns are prepacked with commercially available resin media according to the needs of the user. MediaScout® MiniColumn are of 5mm internal diameter and 10mm bed height. They each contain up to 0.2 ml of the chromatography resins, packed to defined density, corrected for each individual resin material, in order to replicate conditions in larger columns. MiniColumns may be operated either by centrifuge, by positive displacement pipettes or fully automized by robotic fluid handling equipment.
Tecan has now adapted this technique in their Freedom EVO system.
Further applications: desalting or sample concentration of numerous samples for process analytics.
