Perten Instruments acquires Newport Scientific

10 Aug 2007 - Perten Instruments of Sweden announced, that it has acquired the Australian based instrument manufacturer Newport Scientific Pty Ltd.
 
Under the terms of the acquisition, the Newport Scientific will continue to deliver its viscometry based instruments under the Newport Scientific brand. The Perten group will take control of much of the distribution through its network of independent and wholly owned subsidiaries.
 
Sven Holmlund, CEO of Perten Instruments said 'The complimentary nature of the instrument range from Perten Instruments and Newport Scientific allows us to deliver a wider range of analytical solutions to our customers from a single source. As well, through acquiring Newport Scientific, we provide highly skilled support in the Asia Pacific time zone to our customers in that region.'
