Miltenyi Biorec becomes Agilent Technologies certified Microarray Service Provider

01 Mar 2005 - Miltenyi Biotec GmbH announced its certification under the Agilent Technologies Certified Microarray Service Provider Program. Memorec Biotec, a subsidiary of Miltenyi Biotech focused on high-throughput gene expression profiling, has also become certified.
 
The certification validates the companies' ability to provide high-quality microarray processing and data analysis services using Agilent microarrays. Independent studies have demonstrated that Agilent 60-mer oligonucelotide microarrays provide the highest precision, accuracy, and sensitivity among commercial gene expression solutions. Miltenyi Biotec's worldwide distribution grid enables the company to serve a ready market of Agilent customers around the world.
 
"The sensitivity and flexibility of Agilent's solution makes it an excellent fit with our existing PIQOR(tm) Microarray Service and bioinformatics platform," said Dr. Boris Stoffel, managing director of Memorec Biotec and head of the Miltenyi Biotec MACSmolecular business. "Customers who analyze rare cells need tools that enable cell separation and genome-wide analysis at the highest level of reproducibility possible. We are optimally positioned to meet that challenge."
 
Certification for the Agilent program is granted once laboratory personnel complete a training program and the laboratory, as a whole, passes a rigorous set of assessments. Certified service laboratories must also analyze their Agilent microarrays on the complete Agilent gene expression platform, which helps to ensure the quality, reproducibility and reliability of results obtained from Agilent microarrays.
