Thorlabs Brings Two Precision Thin Film Coating Facilities Online
06-23-2008: Two divisions of Thorlabs, Nova Phase based in Newton, NJ and OFR based in Verona, NJ, have completed the installations of precision thin film coating facilities. OFR's new coating facility will support the expansion of line of optical isolators and provide the flexibility needed to expand its on-demand production capabilities of custom or OEM optical isolators.
Nova Phase will use its new coating facility to produce Thorlabs' extensive line of optical components and to offer expanded rapid turnaround OEM coating services. These installations will be instrumental in the implementation of a new line of HR and multi-layer AR coatings featuring industry leading tolerances. Thorlabs worked closely with Tecport Inc. of Orlando, FL to custom design these coating chambers in order to greatly expand the services and products they provide to the photonics community.
