SPECIM announce that Dr. Georg Meissner has been appointed to the role of Managing Director effective January 1st, 2014.

Georg Meissner will join SPECIM to lead it into the next phase of its ongoing growth plan. Working closely with the senior management, he will ensure SPECIM’s continued commitment to its clients and partners, and the development of an unrivaled range of hyperspectral instrumentation and imagining solutions.

Risto Kalske, Chairman of SPECIM Board of Directors, says: “Georg Meissner brings a wealth of experience from his earlier roles of launching new, high technology products with precision according to roadmaps. Combined with Georg’s scientific insights, management skills and a proven ability to lead and inspire multicultural teams, I trust that he is the right choice to lead SPECIM to the next era of spectral imaging.”

Georg Meissner is 50 years old and holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany. He has worked at Nokia in various product and program management roles including Director of Roadmapping and Concepting. Prior to this he worked as Senior Research Scientist at the University of Helsinki, and as Head of Analytical Laboratory in Tauw Umwelt GmbH and Labor Romeis Bad Kissingen GmbH in Germany. Georg Meissner is a German and Finnish national. Based in Oulu, Finland, he is married and has three children.
