Tecan concludes the sale of the Sample Management activities to NEXUS Biosystems
09-06-2010: The Tecan Group announced that the sale of REMP AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tecan, as well as other related assets, to NEXUS Biosystems has been completed as planned. From September 1, 2010, the Sample Management business segment will no longer be consolidated within the Tecan Group. It will be presented in the 2010 financial statements as a discontinued operation.
Tecan announced that it would sell all the activities of the Sample Management business segment to NEXUS as part of its strategic portfolio alignment. Tecan will now focus its resources on growth projects in its core business and actively expand both its end-customer business and its OEM activities.
