09-16-2009: Symyx Technologies, Inc. has announced the opening of a new software research and development centre in Bangalore, India. Developers at the new facility will collaborate with other Symyx sites on the company's core scientific information management software solutions.
"With the addition of developers in one of the most important and emerging tech centres in the world, our global R&D team has improved capability to respond to current and future electronic lab environment needs across the life sciences, chemicals and energy, and consumer and industrial products industries," said Dr. Trevor Heritage, president, Symyx Software.
Symyx is partnering with Encora, Inc, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based provider of collaborative product development (CPD) services, to establish the R&D centre in Bangalore. Encora plans to setup the Symyx R&D centre, which will deploy 30-35 developers by the end of 2009, through its field-tested collaborative engagement model. "We are excited about working with an industry leader like Symyx. This partnership further enhances our presence and underscores our commitment to the life sciences vertical," said Kinesh Doshi, executive vice president, Encora.
